# How to keep track of editorial status

## Is the entity completed? Is it in the process of research? When these and others are the cases, the editorial status is there to help.

While creating entities — be they artwork, publications, or exhibitions — for your digital catalogue raisonné or archive, not everything may be ready to be published. That’s why editorial statusesalert the users of the Navigating.art platform to the readiness of the data. 

The platform has three statuses available to users: 

1. **Draft.** The draft status indicates that data is being entered but some parts are missing, or there are things to still being researched. Ideally, you should not make these data public until you are sure of its quality.
2. **Ready.** The ready status indicates that data has been entered and now it can be reviewed by peers or managers. Feedback can be provided or research performed and changes applied. Ideally, data in ready should still remain private.
3. **Checked.** The checked status indicates that data has been reviewed and can now be made public with confidence.

We recommend integrating these statuses into your workflow from the beginning of your digital catalogue raisonné or archive project. It will help the publishing process run more smoothly when you’re ready to share your research with the globe.
