Notes are an effective way to add context and additional details to your digital catalogue entries. By connecting a publication to a note, you can automatically generate citations. The added publication link is especially useful for integrating quotes from publications into your cataloguing via notes. In addition, notes can serve as a space to document insights and observations related to the connected publication. Follow this tutorial to learn how to easily link publications to your notes for added citation and documentation.
1. Click +Add to create a new note
2. Click on Markdown help
Markdown is a lightweight markup language that allows adding formatting to text. The Markdown help lists the most common text formats for you to use in the note text.
3. Enter note text
In this example the quote format using ">" was entered. The format is appleid once you click outside of the text field
4. Enter note type
5. Click + Add publication
6. Select a publication
7. Enter a comment (optional)
After selecting a publication its citation is displaying under Related publication. A the comment field is now available below. Use the comment field to add further remarks to the citation, such as page numbers.
8. Confirm with Save
9. Note with linked publication successfully created
Notes are currently still published without the connected publication entry.
